It is often assumed that we get our understanding of the world from the news and from documentaries. Movies and TV dramas are just there to entertain and distract us. But there is increasing evidence that we learn about ourselves and our society from those movies and programmes. And the question then is: what kind of story are we told by our entertainment. This talk explores, in particular, how films and TV portray politicians, politics and power.
